All of our four-legged friends were born to run and interact with other dogs. However, not all dog owners have more than one pet, or do they have enough land to let their pets roam freely outdoors. Halo House Animal Resort took a look at some of the best dog parks in NJ to visit.
Freedom Park
Freedom Park is located at 86 Union Street in Medford, NJ. Freedom Park is one of the nicest dog parks around that features a children’s playground as well as different family events. This makes it a great option for a little family outing with your furry friend. For your dog, Freedom Park features an open dog play area that has rivers, bridges, and South Jersey dog training courses that will have your dog tuckered out in no time. The dog play area and other areas of the park feature many bathrooms and shaded spots for seating as well, which is important with the summer heat upon us.
Timber Creek Dog Park
Timber Creek Dog Park is located at 236 Taylor Avenue in Blackwood, NJ. Timber Creek Dog Park is one of the largest dog parks around that features a large nine-acre fenced-in area for your dogs to roam. On top of this, Timber Creek Dog Park has a calm lake that is perfect for your dog to cool off in as well. Similar to Freedom Park, Timber Creek Dog Park features plenty of restrooms, water fountains, and picnic tables for your family. The dog park is located not too far from a children’s playground, nature trails, and a track perfect for running.
Ocean City Dog Park
Ocean City Dog Park is located on 45th Street & Haven Avenue in Ocean City, NJ. Ocean City Dog Park is an awesome location to visit if you are away at the shore or day-tripping with your pets. The dog park features a clean and well-maintained dog park with obstacles that are perfect for training. The dog park features two separate fenced areas for small and big dogs to keep them playing within their means. The only downside is, a pass is needed from City Hall to use the park, which is right up the road from the dog park. Since you’re on vacation though, it is okay to spoil your pup.
Veterans Memorial Park
Veterans Memorial Park is located at 2206 Kuser Road in Hamilton, NJ. Veterans Memorial Park boasts 333 acres of land in honor of Hamilton’s veterans in 1977. The park features walking trails, bicycle trails, athletic fields, and what we all have been waiting for, a dog park! The dog park is a very well-maintained, off-leash play area. The dog park is broken down into two separate fenced areas for small and big dogs alike. Each area has an obstacle course, water fountains, waste bags, and plenty of lands to run on.
